Acceptance of Terms

These terms are an agreement between you and MeasureLawn LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company (“MeasureLawn,” “Measure Lawn,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). MeasureLawn LLC operates measurelawn.com, measurelawnpro.com, measureturf.com and mylawnpage.com, including the MeasureLawn, MeasureLawn Pro and MeasureTurf services. By using our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.

Your agreement for these services is with MeasureLawn LLC. Business accounts using MeasureLawn Pro or MeasureTurf are also subject to our Pro Partner Terms.

The Service

Measure Lawn provides a free tool to map your property, identify your grass type, and generate a personalized DIY lawn care calendar. We also connect users with local lawn care professionals upon request. We also offer a weed and grass photo identifier, weed treatment guides, and soil-temperature and weed-timing information (Weed Watch).

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Measurements are estimates based on satellite and aerial imagery and the outlines on your map. Those outlines may be drawn by you, filled in automatically (for example building outlines and, where available, lot lines from public property records), or drawn by our optional AI lawn detection, together with any corrections you make. Other information on the site is general guidance.

Measure Lawn is designed mainly for homeowners in the United States. Visitors from other countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, can also use it, and some features (such as local lawn pro quotes) may not be available everywhere. Where we can't yet build a plan for your country, we may offer to tell you when it's available instead. If you use Measure Lawn from outside the United States, you are responsible for following your local laws, including any rules on product labels and lawn treatments. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data for visitors in the UK, EEA and elsewhere.

Accuracy Disclaimer

  • Lawn area calculations are estimates. Automatically drawn outlines, including AI lawn detection, can miss or misjudge parts of your property. Check the outline on your map before you rely on the measurement or buy products. A measurement is not a property survey
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of measurements, product recommendations, or care calendar advice
  • Plant, weed and grass identifications are automated best guesses (our photo identifier uses the Pl@ntNet service) and can be wrong. Confirm what a plant is before you treat it, and never rely on an identification or our advice to decide whether a plant is safe to touch, eat, or have around children or pets
  • Some answers and treatment plans are written by AI, including MeasureLawn AI chat replies and plans for plants that are not in our weed library. They are general information, may contain mistakes, and are not professional agronomic, medical, or legal advice
  • Soil temperatures and Weed Watch timing (for example “apply now” or “get ready”) come from regional weather-model data and forecasts from third parties. They may be inaccurate or delayed and may not match your own lawn. Weed Watch rankings reflect identifications made on this site, not official pest surveys
  • Always follow product label instructions — the label is the law, and it overrides anything shown on this site
  • Consult a local lawn professional for specific advice

Beta Features

Features marked “Beta,” such as AI lawn detection, are experimental. They may be inaccurate, change or be withdrawn at any time, and are provided as is without any warranty. Using them is optional, and you can always measure by hand.

Amazon Affiliate Links

Many Measure Lawn pages contain links to products on Amazon, including the care calendar, weed guides, buying guides, calculators and the MeasureLawn AI chat. As an Amazon Associate, Measure Lawn earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. If you visit from outside the US, Amazon may send you to your local Amazon store. Some pages, such as the mulch calculator, also link to other retailers like Lowe's and Home Depot.

  • Product recommendations are general guidance based on your grass type, climate and lawn size
  • We are not responsible for product quality, pricing, or availability at Amazon or any other retailer

Lawn Professional Quotes

When you ask for a quote, we send your request to partner lawn care companies that cover your address, normally no more than 3 companies. On some screens the matching companies are listed and you can untick any you don't want before sending. On others we show the companies we'll contact, and you can send to all of them or cancel. Our team may also pass a request to other partner companies, for example if the companies you chose don't respond. If no company receives your request (for example because no partner covers your address yet), we keep it and, for up to 60 days, may offer it to new partner companies that join covering your ZIP code, up to 3 in total. Once a company has accepted it, we stop offering it to newly joining companies.

  • Before a company accepts, it sees your general area (usually your town, state and ZIP code, not your street address), your lawn and flower-bed size, any answers you gave about the property, and the shape of your lawn without its location. Your name, email and phone number, and normally your exact address, go only to a company that accepts your request
  • Measure Lawn may receive a referral fee from a professional for connecting you
  • How we choose which companies to show you: we only list companies that say they serve your address, and we show up to three. If more than three cover your address, companies whose account is on our top (Gold) plan, including free trials of it and trials that have ended, are listed first (on some screens marked “Featured Partner”), then Silver, then free-plan companies, so some companies that serve your area may not appear. Plan level is not a rating of a company's quality. Being listed does not mean we have verified a company's licenses, insurance or reviews
  • If you use a company's own quote tool or quote page, your request goes to that company only. Companies using MeasureLawn Pro may also send you a quote they prepared themselves
  • Partner professionals agree, under the Pro Partner Terms they accept at signup, to use your details only to respond to your quote request and provide services you ask them for, to keep your details secure, not to sell or share them, to honor deletion requests, and to follow anti-spam and telemarketing laws (CAN-SPAM and the TCPA) in any follow-up messages. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email a professional sends you
  • We do not guarantee the quality, pricing, or availability of lawn care services
  • Any agreement you make is between you and the lawn professional - MeasureLawn LLC is not a party to that contract

User Content

  • Maps you draw remain your property
  • Using the mapping tool saves the address you searched and the map you draw — including an automatic background backup a short time after you outline your property, before you press Save — so we can provide and improve the service
  • You grant us a license to use your saved map data to train our property-segmentation AI model; the street address is not an input to that training
  • You can delete your saved maps or revoke this license at any time by requesting deletion at privacy@measurelawn.com
  • If you share an AI lawn detection review (the “Help improve this free tool” box starts ticked, and you can untick it before you confirm), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store that review (including the aerial image, the AI outlines, your corrected shapes and the property location kept with it) and, after a person has checked it, to use it to improve our lawn detection models. Training copies use image pixels and shape labels only, without your address or geographic coordinates. You can ask us to remove a shared review at privacy@measurelawn.com. See the Privacy Policy for details
  • Photos you upload to the Weed or Grass Identifier remain yours. We send them to Pl@ntNet to identify the plant
  • If you leave “Keep my photos” ticked when you identify a plant, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store those photos — with their location data removed — and use them to operate and improve our plant identification, including training our own models. We will not publish or sell them. See the Privacy Policy for details
  • Only upload photos you took yourself or have the right to share, and keep people out of shot

Prohibited Use

  • Do not use this service for illegal purposes
  • Do not attempt to access other users' data
  • Do not abuse the API endpoints
  • Do not submit false information in quote requests
  • Do not scrape, crawl, harvest, bulk-download, mirror, or systematically copy any part of this site, its content, data, or APIs, except as allowed under Automated Access & AI Training below
  • Do not use this site's content or data to train, fine-tune, or build any machine-learning or AI model or dataset, except as allowed under Automated Access & AI Training below

Intellectual Property

Our measuring tools, address search and map images use Google Maps features and content. Your use of Google Maps on this site is subject to the then-current Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Google Maps imagery and data belong to Google and its licensors and are not covered by our intellectual-property claims above.

Automated Access & AI Training

You may not access this site by automated means — including scraping, crawling, spidering, or bulk extraction — nor reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from our content, or use our content or data to train, fine-tune, or develop machine-learning or generative-AI models or datasets. There are three exceptions:

  • Search-engine and AI crawlers that our robots.txt file allows by name (for example Googlebot, Bingbot, GPTBot, Google-Extended and ClaudeBot) may access the pages robots.txt allows them, for the purposes their operators publish, which may include training AI models. This covers only those public pages, and only while robots.txt names that crawler. It never covers anything robots.txt disallows, such as our APIs, account pages, admin pages and the pro app. A crawler is not covered just because robots.txt does not block it
  • AI assistants may call our published MeasureLawn connector, as described on our AI assistants page, on behalf of a person who asks them to, within the documented tools and our rate limits
  • An AI assistant may fetch a public page because a person asked it to (for example, to read or summarize that page for them). This covers one-off fetches of public pages for that person, not bulk crawling, and not pages robots.txt disallows

All other automated access and AI training is forbidden. Our pages carry embedded attribution markers; their appearance in third-party content is evidence of copying. We monitor for unauthorized reproduction and will pursue takedowns and other available remedies.

Using MeasureLawn from a chat assistant

You can start a measurement from a third-party AI assistant (such as Muse, ChatGPT or Claude) that connects to MeasureLawn. That assistant is provided by another company under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control it and are not responsible for what it says, recommends or does with information you give it. A measuring link the assistant gives you is private, works for up to 24 hours, and is tied to the browser where you tap Start measuring, so do not share it. You can end it sooner from the measuring page. Nothing is sent back to your assistant until you tap Share. After that it receives your lawn size (in square feet and square meters), how it was measured (from an outline you reviewed), when you shared it, and a link to your plan that opens only in your browser. It never receives your address or outline. Results already sent to your assistant are held by that provider. Your map is saved and used like any other map made on Measure Lawn (see User Content and our Privacy Policy), and measurements are estimates, not a survey (see Accuracy Disclaimer). Measuring from an assistant is currently available only for addresses in the mainland United States. It is rate limited, and we may change, pause or end it at any time.

Third-Party Data Sources

Measure Lawn uses public geospatial data to improve the accuracy of property analysis. These data sources include:

USGS 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) — Elevation data provided by the United States Geological Survey. This data is in the public domain as a work of the US government.

OpenStreetMap — Building footprint data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL). For full license terms, see openstreetmap.org/copyright.

Overture Maps Foundation — Building footprint data © Overture Maps Foundation (overturemaps.org), available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Overture's buildings include data from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), Microsoft (ML Building Footprints, ODbL) and Esri Community Maps contributors (CC BY 4.0).

Lot lines are a guide, not a legal survey.

Limitation of Liability

For our free services, to the fullest extent permitted by law, MeasureLawn LLC's total liability to you is limited to $0. Liability for MeasureLawn Pro and MeasureTurf business accounts is addressed in the Pro Partner Terms. Nothing in these terms, however, excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, this clause does not affect your statutory rights. We are not responsible for the actions of lawn care professionals.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time for any reason. You may stop using the service at any time.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the service changes. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Changes take effect when they are posted, unless we say otherwise. If you keep using measurelawn.com after that, you accept the updated terms; if you do not agree, please stop using the service. If you have a pro account, the Pro Partner Terms explain how changes to those terms work.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Applicable US federal and state consumer protection laws also apply.
