Measure your lawn from your AI assistant

Ask Muse, ChatGPT or Claude how big your lawn is and it can hand you a private MeasureLawn link. In supported areas MeasureLawn's AI outlines your lawn on satellite imagery; elsewhere you draw it. You check it and choose to share the size. Your assistant gets the square footage and a link to your plan; your address and outline stay on MeasureLawn. Your custom lawn-care plan, with a care calendar and exact product amounts, opens on MeasureLawn.

How it works

  1. Ask your assistant something like “How big is my lawn?” or “How much grass seed do I need?”
  2. Open the MeasureLawn link it gives you. The link is private and works for 24 hours.
  3. Find your address. In supported areas MeasureLawn's AI outlines the lawn for you to check and adjust; elsewhere you outline your lot and mark buildings, driveways and beds.
  4. Tap Share. Your assistant can now see your lawn size and a link to your plan.

Adding MeasureLawn

Muse: find MeasureLawn under Connectors in Muse's settings once it is listed, or add it as a custom connector with the address below.

ChatGPT and Claude: add a custom connector (MCP) with the same address.

No account, sign-in or API key is needed. Transport: MCP Streamable HTTP (stateless, JSON responses).

Tools

  • start_lawn_measurement: creates a private measuring link. Optional input assistant (muse, chatgpt, claude or other) names the assistant on the share button.
  • get_lawn_measurement: returns pending until the person shares, then the lawn size in square feet and square meters and a link to their plan.

Assistants that support MCP Apps show a MeasureLawn card; others show a short message with a link.

Privacy

  • Your assistant never receives your address, outline or satellite imagery. After you tap Share, it receives your lawn size (in square feet and square meters), how it was measured (from an outline you reviewed), the time you shared it, and a link to your plan. The plan link opens only in the browser where you measured.
  • Measuring links expire after 24 hours. You can end one sooner from the measuring page. That stops your assistant from getting a result, but it does not delete your saved map.
  • Like any map made on MeasureLawn, your map is saved as you work, including the address you entered, whether or not you tap Share. After review, saved maps may help improve our measurements, and the address is removed before they are used for training. Your plan's AI briefing and lawn chat send OpenAI only your town and state, never your street address. To have yours deleted, email privacy@measurelawn.com with the address you used. Measuring this way does not sign you up for emails.
  • If MeasureLawn's AI outlines your lawn, a “Help improve this free tool” box asks whether to share your review and corrections. It starts ticked and you can untick it. Shared reviews keep the property location (see “Optional AI lawn detection feedback” in our Privacy Policy).

Limits and support

Measuring from an assistant works for addresses in the mainland United States. Measurements are estimates from the outline you check and confirm, whether you drew it or MeasureLawn's AI drew it. They are not a property survey. Links are rate limited to prevent abuse. Questions: hello@measurelawn.com.
